It’s like entering another world: Havana, Cuba feels like a filmset. And I had the chance to stay right in the centre at the Hotel Parque Central next to Havana’s central park.
Right in front of the Hotel you will find yourself in a 50′ and 60’s flashback with all the iconic vintage cars. You can book them for a tour through the city – something I strongly recommend here. It’s pretty unique to explore the city in an old Cadillac convertible – even if you can smell the city in your nose ;)
The hotel rooms at the Iberostar Parque Central are really spacious and offer some comfort in the rather noisy city of Havana. Since it’s really hard to get drinks and (especially vegetarian) food on the go in Cuba I got used to the minibar in our suite and it saved me more than once from starving.
The Hotel Parque Central by Iberostar is divided in two buildings – a modern tower and the more classic Grand Hotel, where I stayed. I really preferred the classic one in this case because I has great views of the central park and the parking lot in front of the hotel with all the vintage cars. So it was one of my favorite places to watch the streets of Havana in a very comfy way.
A beautiful rooftop terrace with pools awaits you on each top of the buildings. This is definitely one of the best look out spot in the whole city. It’s perfect to watch the sunset or for the early birds of you also the sunrise.
Another very important thing the Hotel Parque Central offers you is wifi! You may say wifi – every shack around the corner offers you wifi… well, not in Cuba! Wifi is very rare and hard to find and if you do find one it will be rather slow. The hotel really offers the best wifi I experienced in Cuba (and I used it a lot!).
