Normally this blog is not political, but I think equality shouldn’t be about politics anyway. So why do I write this post?

Being raised by a single mother, surrounded by two sisters and having a girl as best friend when I grew up always showed me that there is absolutely no difference in power between men and women. I even think women are more powerful than men, especially when it comes to social behavior.

So why do we still prefer men in leading positions, even though the natural mindset of women was always more social? It has to do with so many things, cultural norms being just one of them. But I do believe in a shift of culture, a new wave of grown-up feminism.

For the future I hope there will be more leading women and I hope the power doesn’t distract their minds. As this is what happens with too many men, that are just trying to feed their ego and greed.

The original T-shirt design for “The Future is Female” was made for Labyris Books, the first women’s bookstore in New York City, which opened in 1972. It originated in the queer feminist scene, which was a bit different from today’s way of feminism.

With this post I want to support and encourage women to lead us into the future.

I’m happy that we live in a time, when it’s ok to be a feminist as a man and when feminism becomes less about revolution and more about evolution.
