What comes to your mind when you think about Zürich? Right: Switzerland, the mountains, the lakes – maybe chocolate and Swiss cheese. But you maybe wouldn’t come up with contemporary architecture right away… Well let me show you another kind of Zürich with this modern library pictures!
On a trip with a big group of German, Swiss and Austrian Instagramers, we explored this breathtaking building – it’s a library, designed by Calatrava. And of course I wouldn’t show you some pure architecture photos, but had to mix in my personal fashion statement as well ;-)
The amazing people from Berlin’s Visual Marketing Agency Visumate invited me to come to Switzerland as part of a travel project for Radisson Blu, so I could show my personal vision of Zürich. So me and the rest of the group of hungry Instagramers explored the city from all sorts of different angles (think climbing a mountain, eating chestnuts on a Christmas market and contemporary architecture in one day!). But at this library I also found the perfect spots for my fashion story, as you can see in the pictures.
The law library at Zürich’s university was easily my favorite architectural place we visited this weekend. It was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, who’s also responsible for the Zurich Stadlhofen station (that we visited before) and this building in Tenerife, which I already showed you.
I love the organic wooden structure with the contrasting white glass roof on top. But believe me – this building made Marion (my photographer) go crazy, because nothing was symmetrical ;-)
