Konstantin Filippou – Restaurant & Krug Ambassade Vienna
The right place to celebrate this occasion was at the excellent Restaurant Konstantin Filippou in Vienna, which also happens to also be the restaurant of choice for Krug.
Konstantin is known for refining a sublime taste, which helped him to become “Chef of the year 2016” of Gault-Millau – besides gaining 3 “hats” (Hauben) . Side note: Gault-Millau gave him 18 points on a scale up to 20 points, which have never been awarded, because Gault-Millau believes that perfection is unachievable! ;)
It was a pleasure watching this relaxed mastermind in his cooking atelier. And especially for me he created a vegetarian menu, which was really tasteful and special (ever heard of Puntarelle? It’s a kind of chicory, see photo below).
While introducing the top of the top in restaurants in Vienna, he still managed to make you feel very cosy, relaxed and welcome – which lets you enjoy the exclusive fine cuisine even more.
