Aruba is a beautiful island in the Caribbean – loaded with super dreamy sandy beaches. But instead of the classic “we are all happy shiny bloggers” selfies from the beach – I tried to find other interesting backdrops for an editorial. And after that it’s best to enjoy an Aruba Ariba (a special cocktail) at a local bar.
Especially the town of San Nicolaas is full of great backdrops – colorful murals by international and local artists. And the city is completely empty at noon – maybe also because it’s super freaking hot.
But if you are still on the couch and there is no holiday in the books soon, check out the cocktail recipe for the “Aruba Ariba” (just to get a little bit of thos island vibes):
Ingredients
- 1/2 oz. vodka
- 1/2 oz. 151 rum (better if using Ron Rico from Aruba, higher proof)
- 1/8 oz. Coecoei
- 1/8 oz. Creme de Banana
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
Preparation Directions
Splash of Grenadine, top with Grand Marnier. Do not shake, just stir lightly. Top with cherry and orange.
