I got prepared for some heavy rain – but the weather gods seem to have slept very well here on the Faroe Islands!
Two days ago I arrived on the Faroe Islands. The landscape over here is one of the most impressive I have seen so far during my travels. Lots of steep cliffs with rough edges and black stone monumental mountains, that are ornamented with waterfall veins straight into the ocean. An eye pleasing natural architecture for the lover of simple aesthetics.
The Faroe Islands are known for lots of rain – therefore I came equipped with a new rainproof look. I prepared myself with one of the best rain blockers on the market: Hunter Boots – with it’s creative director Alasdhair Willis (since 2013), who is maybe more known for being Stella McCartney’s husband (emancipation works!) :) Hunter Boots is actually a traditional 160 year old brand – worn by no other than the Queen herself (and the for me one and only real supermodel Kate Moss).
The fisherman coat
The rubberised fisherman coat got a real hype – not only for outdoors Instagram fans, but also for quite some seasons in the fashion industry. There is more high tech rain-gear on the market (lightweight and such), but the aesthetic of a fisherman coat always transfers us back to our childhood. Back to a time when a puddle seemed to have magnetic power over our younger selfs.
