(Advertorial) You might have already read a several times about the importance of sustainability on my Blog. Buy less and if necessary only the good stuff. True You and Willhaben teamed up to show you how you can get high end fashion pieces on Willhaben and even make your purchase more unique by customizing the pieces.
Well, buying good quality stuff does not necessarily mean you have to hunt down the extremely expensive new designer pieces as soon as they arrive in stores. You can either wait until the sale season is on or get you some Second hand pieces on platforms like Willhaben.
Good design – never gets old! It doesn’t even matter in which category you are interested. From fashion to furniture this saying relates to everything. As for my part, I’m still happy to own some vintage Helmut Lang and Raf Simons pieces from the 90’s or even my Patricia Urquiola Sofa from Moroso which I also got on Willhaben about 5 years ago.
So this time around the young uprising Viennese Fashion label True You teamed up with Willhaben in order to customize Second hand pieces selected by bloggers from the Willhaben shop. The whole campaign is about #Make2ndHandYour1stChoice. Considering the overproduction of cheap fast fashion clothes worldwide and having our environment in mind this initiative was something I really wanted to support right away!
True You started with customizing T-shirts by bleaching, overpainting and giving them a vintage treatment a few years ago. The Willhaben coop remembered it’s heritage once again and created something new out of the selected Second hand pieces. They where first shown at the True You fashion show in Vienna a few weeks ago. Now you will find them on many Viennese blogs.

My second hand selection
I for my part selected something from the mastermind of Men’s wardrobe: Mr. Raf Simons. It’s amazing how you can find really cool (designer) pieces on Willhaben for a super affordable price. I got this shirt in brown color, which was in pretty good condition, for 70 euros. The original price is around 350 euros!
Roland the head designer of True You did a really great job on the shirt. I’m not sure if he was aware that bleaching is something also Raf Simons appreciated in the past inspired by artist Sterling Ruby who recently also worked with him on the new Calvin Klein Flagship store in New York.

Funny side story: While collecting the links above I found a super awesome Helmut Lang Jacket for 30 euros!
