Even Vienna, where the clocks are notoriously behind, there are some creative spaces popping up. The Nordbahnhalle (loosely translated as “Hall of the Northern trains”) is a temporary project space offering a location for your creative visions.
Wether you are searching for a co-working space, an atelier for your next exhibition or just a perfect photoshoot location for rainy days – the Nordbahnhalle fits all of these needs. During the current rainy and snowy days the location was the perfect escape to shoot this editorial!
The project
The whole project is located in an abandoned brick wall train station building. Together with the TU Wien (the technical university) some students decided to use the space as a creative network. It offers various sized and used project spaces – from a workshop (already equipped with tools) to a small cafeteria.

Fashion project
Glenn Martens Y/Projects head of design is one of current times most promising visionaries. Like most of Antwerp’s fashion school graduates he is into deconstruction. Maybe in his terms it’s more about building new constructs not so much about the deconstruction. He is adding a value to the washed out oversized trend we still can’t get rid of by setting some sewing lines. They create more shapes into the otherwise less shaped oversize garments.
Raf Simons x Eastpak
Another Antwerp alumni is Mr. Raf Simons. He is restlessly conquering the fashion world – lately by taking over iconic American label Calvin Klein. For the current Eastpak collaboration with his own label Raf Simons he made this gorgeous see-through backpack. I added another dimension by putting Julia Skergeth’s new sleek white croc-embossed backpack – to backpack inception!
