If you’re searching for the perfect place to combine relaxation and adventure in your next holiday, the Erindi Private Game reserve in Namibia is an excellent choice.
I think pretty much everyone has this dream of going on a safari at least once in a lifetime. Seeing animals in a zoo is rather uninspiring and many of them look quite sad in comparison. But visiting them in their home base – the natural habitat – is something really special.
Already 20 meters after passing through the gates of Erindi giraffes were decorating the gravel road. But the attractions won’t stop at the gate. The Old Traders Lodge of Erindi is embedded in the middle of the private reserve, that boasts of wildlife.
On the veranda of the restaurant I could’ve easily chilled the whole day while watching hippos (including babys) and crocodiles doing hippo and crocodile stuff. When you open the window of your lodge room in the morning you can already spot antilopes, birds and other wildlife species.
To get the real wild life dose you have to go on a game drive. Those are offered 3 times a day at the Erindi Game Reserve. The cool part is you never know what you get. During the very first drive we already saw a pack of 2 young lion brothers marking their territory and showing off who is the boss by chasing us for a short time.
At the end of our one week in Erindi I had the chance to see every animal I really wanted to see in the wild. My highlight obviously included seeing my favourite animal from when I was a child – a wild leopard – and it was an unforgettable experience!
But to get a full story about the game drives and the lodge you have to wait for Marion’s report on thetravelblog.at .
I also filmed more than ever there, so you can also look forward to seeing a super wildlife charged Erindi Video on thetraveblog.at soon.
