Summer heat is at it’s peak – so it’s time to get the right refreshment and look.
Lifeguard Inspiration
Since most of us grew up with the Baywatch TV series, who hasn’t dreamt of becoming a lifeguard like Mitch? With the casual beach workspace and the lightly clad workmates included. Worshipped like heroes by the beachside crowd…
Beachwear is taking over
We all love a breezy and casual outfit. Luckily dress codes in offices and most other jobs are getting less strict, so athleisure, but also sometimes beachleisure is irresistible. Through global warming summers are becoming hotter and last longer. If there’s a single positive thing about this (which obviously there shouldn’t even be), we get more time to wear our Hawaii prints and shorts, which are in fashion right now.
Supershort jeans shorts are also hot if you want to get that retro feeling like myself. It’s also time to get rid of socks again. Socks have been a super important accessory for some years now. With prices up to 100 euros and more for a pair it feels good to free the feet this summer!
By the way: The beachleisure style is here to stay – you can find it in next year’s collections by designers like Jaquemus beach life collection for the SS19 season (which also was shown on a beach near Marseille).
Pool boy
I really love to be at the sea (or lake), but I’m actually not a good swimmer. Water was always my kryptonite. Maybe it was because I slipped from a boat at an early age when I couldn’t swim and almost drowned. Or maybe it’s just my fear of things I cannot see and which could be waiting in the deep. Maybe that fear even arised in the Baywatch and Jaws day of my childhood ;)
So will I become a lifeguard after all? Maybe rather at a pool ;)
