It’s definitely time for the first spring vibes. While already fighting spring lethargy on a daily base the real spring season has still some more days to finally arrive.
Some trees are already in full bloom – while others are still waiting for the real deal. The spring summer 19 collection is also already in stores and it’s time to get informed about what’s coming up.
With leaving the winter mood behind we are ready for brightening up our wardrobes. Especially wearing black is absolutely over these days (unless you are a chimney sweeper). For a long time black was the color of intellectuals and artists, but today it’s just here to satisfy some “play it safe fuck boys” and the aforementioned chimney artists :)
Disruptive trends are also loosing their power. It’s not about being sarcastic and super-edgy anymore (although there is still some fun and ease to the spring summer collections). And for sure the bold logo eara has also reached it’s absolute peak now and from there it’s a fast slope downhill. There’a a new ease hitting the scene and I couldn’t agree more with this development.
The Danish word “Hygge” is definitely the best word to describe the overall spring summer fashion trend. Hygge means something along the lines of getting cozy and seeking comfort. So everything must be easy breezy and in soft tones. A soft off white, beige and nude tones to light brown, light blue and of course the all time summer classic – navy blue if you need a little more contrast.
An article in the germans newspaper “Die Zeit” brings everything to the point:
“The new ethic of wellbeing leads to a picture of humans which is absolutely harmless: We wear beige and light blue, and avoid disruptive factors to the state that we declare relationships which need a little more effort as toxic relationships and drink our washed out matcha lattes, which couldn’t harm us at all. “
