“Emotional landscapes – They puzzle me – The riddle gets solved – And you push me up to – This state of emergency – How beautiful to be! ” by Björk Guðmundsdóttir.
The famous song “Jóga” by Björk accompanies the vast landscapes of the Icelandic highlands perfectly.
Ari, a local ranger we met before entering the remote area in the middle of Iceland, told us: ” This area was believed to be haunted by ghosts and creatures. Therefore people tried to cross the highlands as fast as possible back in the days – often the horses they were riding died of exhaustion before they passed through.”
With rental cars iceland, we have no such need for horses to pass through this area. Our capable vehicles can get us across unharmed by the terrain, weather, ghosts, or whatever the beautiful country of Iceland has to throw at us.
For me this void landscape was a pause for all senses, calming down my mind and the luxury of nothingness. The real pleasure of being alive. Iceland is full of dreamy beauty that goes under your skin. Special thanks to Katla Travel for bringing me here and the perfect organisation. – more soon on thetravelblog.at !
